Informal look at Moscow
This Saturday, 19th of March Moscow was celebrating the Saint Patrick’s Day. There were two parades – an official one at Sokolniki and unofficial – at Arbat. This is the report from Arbat.
1. Unlike the Sokolniki celebration, that seemed dull and poorly organized for me, the action at Arbat was a real festival. All the guests were really happy. I immediately got to the dance after arrival.

Leave a Comment1. Pancake festival is in full swing. The weather is not really festive, but at VDNKh everything is ready for the celebration. Volunteers have prepared tents, organized hayricks for children, turned on the electric pancake-cookers.

1. There is a traditional GUM-fair at the Red Square. It looks similar to previous ones and even uses the same paraphernalia. New Years’ retro postcards, that GUM is decorated with, are the only difference.
I’ve shown the fair last year, so I decided not to do it again.

1. There is a strange Christmas tree in front of the entrance. This is an 18-meters-high model of a parachute tower, which were located at the park and had even been one of its symbols in 1930-1950s.

Leave a CommentOne of my favorite holidays – Victory Day – is over. I’ve been visiting Poklonnaya Gora and congratulating veterans on the Great Victory for several years. It’s in 20 minutes from my home, so I liked walking among blossoming chestnuts and first garden trees.
But this year I decided to visit Arbat. So this time I’ll show you some photos from a pedestrian street.
