Moscow. Saint Patrick’s Day celebration at Arbat

This Saturday, 19th of March Moscow was celebrating the Saint Patrick’s Day. There were two parades – an official one at Sokolniki and unofficial – at Arbat. This is the report from Arbat.

1. Unlike the Sokolniki celebration, that seemed dull and poorly organized for me, the action at Arbat was a real festival. All the guests were really happy. I immediately got to the dance after arrival.

Moscow. New work of Zoom

This time Zoom has transformed sadly sticking out pipe near Mayakovskaya metro station into a mop. As you correctly guessed already, a hero, holding it, is Chief from Ken Kesey’s novel “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest”, that was later filmed by Milos Forman. In the film Chief was played by Will Sampson, a full-blooded Muscogee, from the Creek People.

Moscow. Marshal Babadjanyan square

Everyone knows about marshal Zhukov, standing near Red square, but few people know about marshal Zhukov at the prospect named after him. And not everyone of these who knows about the park, in which the second monument is placed, knows that the square in front of it has its own name.

This is marshal Babadjanyan square, located where Horoshevskoe highway divides into marshal Zhukov prospect and Mnyovinka street. Yes, nowadays there is a simple semaphore and there always are several car rows, waiting for the allowing signal to make a turn.
