Leave a CommentThere is a true preserve for Moscow manors near Arbat and Khamovniki. All these lovely houses looked poorly earlier, but after the reconstruction they are as good as new.

Leave a CommentSome more pictures of the history and the present coexistence. Photos from thin lanes at the very heart of Moscow.
House number 24 at Bolshoy Afanasyevsky lane looks like ancient palace. It stands beyond the “red line” of the lane, which means that it had been built in 17th century. It was reconstructed and returned its historical look recently.

Leave a CommentI had to conduct a real investigation to find out what is the strange building (a triumphal arch? An entrance of a palace? An ancient Greek portico?) , raising above the Moscow roofs.

It is hanging on a billboard near the abandoned cinema “Pravda” (“Tulskaya” metro station). I remember watching movies there about 25 years ago… This is the 31st work of Zoom I’ve taken photos of.

Leave a CommentThe memory march took place yesterday. The route passed from Strastnoy boulevard to Akademika Saharova prospect. Two columns were moving along the road, one on each side of the boulevard. There were a lot of people, more than the previous year. Inspection at security frames was not too strict, the police was really polite and friendly.
I don’t know why, but all the photographers moved to the right column, practically ignoring the left one. The columns started moving at 14:00, just as it had been planned.
1. Everything is ready for the march beginning
